Elin Dahlio AMBININTSOA- Coral reef defender

Master 2 student at IH.SM

Elin Dahlio AMBININTSOA is a passionate student at the Institut Halieutique et des Sciences Marines (IH.SM) in Toliara, where he has been pursuing a Master 2 since 2019. Driven by a deep love for the sea and its biodiversity, he turned to the study of coral reefs, a vital ecosystem, but today threatened by the effects of climate change and anthropogenic activities.
Her research topic focuses on coral reef monitoring and restoration through coral transplantation in the Mahafaly Landscape region of southwestern Madagascar. Aware of the importance of reefs for marine biodiversity and coastal communities, Elin is actively involved in their preservation and restoration.
Since this year, he has contributed to a reef restoration project in the Atsimo-Andrefana region, in collaboration with WWF. He has also
participated in a training course organized by CORDIO East Africa in May, which enabled him to monitor the state of coral reefs in this region,
thus consolidating its expertise in the field of marine conservation.
