OCEAN DEFENDERS MADAGASCAR

ocean defenders blanc sans fond

Launched in 2024 by Natiora Defenders, Ocean Defenders Madagascar is an ambitious initiative dedicated to the preservation of the island's marine ecosystems. This project began with the careful selection of passionate defenders from all over Madagascar, united by a common goal: to protect our oceans and their fragile treasures.
Ocean Defenders not only supports these unsung heroes who often work in the shadows, but also tells their inspiring stories. By creating a strong framework to support them in their mission, we provide them with essential training and recognition. Each step of the project aims to strengthen their impact on marine conservation and inspire a new generation of ocean protectors.

Skills building

THE capacity building of Ocean Defenders is crucial to their role in the preservation of marine and coastal ecosystems. The training they receive cover several aspects essential to their mission. It include learning the advocacy techniques, allowing defenders to structure advocacy committees, set goals SMART, and develop detailed action plans. The sessions also cover the community site management, providing knowledge on the best practices and the legislative frameworks necessary for conservation.
