Madagascar’s marine heritage is vital for maintaining the ecological balance of the oceans, protecting coral reefs—which serve as nurseries for marine life—preserving fisheries for coastal communities, mitigating the effects of climate change through mangroves, and supporting the local economy via sustainable fishing and ecotourism.
